Volunteering for the Last Time

Old Trafford 7th August 2012

Today's the last day I'll be volunteering at Old Trafford - I'll be looking after the VIP's who have come to see a South Korean side, who have vastly overcome expectation, play Brazil the long-standing favourites to win the Gold medal, at quarter to eight. If Korea lose, as the betting sites predict, they still have a fine opportunity to get the Bronze medal against either Mexico or Japan, who play at Wembley today at five o'clock.

Womens Semi Final

I'll be at Old Trafford again, volunteering for the second of the Womens Semi Final matches.

 Canada  v  United States

Hoping to be in charge of puddings again, as I was voted 'Pudding of the Week', which demonstrates just how much faith my colleagues have in me (i think!)

The first Semi Final, is being played at Wembley Stadium, between

 France  v  Japan

Kick off 17:00

Japan doing well with teams in the  Semis for both men and women.

Goalless draw. Spain 0 Morocco 0.

Plenty of effort but no goals to show for it.
Decent Mexican waves though.
Strange targeted waterfall fountain from the rain soaked, over-flowing roof.
Luckily it was at half time and spectators had got up from their seats, so most of them didn't get soaked.

Neither Spain or Morocco progress through to the Quarter Finals.

Japan and Honduras go through from Group D.
