Full Time, Mexico 2 Brazil 1

Final - Wembley - 11th August 2012
MEXICO HAVE DONE IT!
Who would have thought that Mexico would win gold at the Olympics? And so convincingly? They've shattered one of the best footballing sides in the world to get gold, and they're ecstatic. Well done Mexico.

CHANCE!!!

GOODNESS ME THAT WAS A CHANCE! HULK PUTS IN A GREAT BALL, AND CHELSEA'S OSCAR, WITH A FREE HEADER, PUTS IT OVER THE BAR!!! ALL HE NEEDED WAS TO GET IT ON TARGET!!! THE 19 Y/O IS ABSOLUTELY DISTRAUGHT!

Gooaall !! BRA

MEXICO 2 BRAZIL 1 Scored by HULK!!! (90+1')
HULK!!! Easily Brazil's best player in this game, Porto's incredible Hulk has just scored a fantastic goal in the late stages of the match, and has perhaps initiated the best comeback of Olympic football final, or perhaps just football final, history! Two minutes remain! Can they force it into extra time?

Gooaall !! MEX

MEXICO 2 BRAZIL 0 Scored by PERALTA!!! (75')
THEY'VE DONE IT!!! MEXICO HAVE ONE FOOT ON THE GOLD MEDAL!!! Brazil haven't found their rhythm all day long, and have given the ball away so many times, very sloppy. Awful defending too. No Brazilian defender seemed to move, as Peralta again raced through and powered in a completely free header. They deserve this lead.

Gooaall !! MEX

MEXICO 1 BRAZIL 0 Scored by PERALTA!!! (0.28')
MEXICO ARE AHEAD AFTER 28 SECONDS!!! UNITED'S RAFAEL GIVES THE BALL AWAY EASILY AND NO. 9 MAN PERALTA STROKES IT IN AT THE NEAR POST WITH A WONDERFUL CURLING STRIKE. AMAZING. WHAT AN IMPORTANT GOAL!!!

The Olympic Football Final

Final - Wembley - 11th August 2012

Here's the view at Wembley, as the teams line up for their national anthems.

I've had a look at the starting 11's, and this is how I expect the teams to play, although Brazil will be a lot more free-flowing than Mexico, with Oscar, Romulo, Hulk and especially Neymar drifting around the pitch. On the other hand, Mexico will be very organised and tight, and won't get their full backs up as much as Brazil. Mexico are missing their top scorer and assister of the Olympic campaign, underrated Tottenham player Giovanni Dos Santos, so perhaps that will be a problem. Superstar 20 y/o Neymar is looking to impress, as always.

Goal by Cortes (93') for Mexico

Semi Final - Wembley - 7th August 2012
JAPAN 1 MEXICO 3

Another easily conceded goal. Great from super sub Cortes.

Goal by Peralta (65') for Mexico

Semi Final - Wembley - 7th August 2012
JAPAN 1 MEXICO 2

The same as Otsu's goal really, just mirrored. A peach of a goal.

Goal by Fabian (31') for Mexico

Semi Final - Wembley - 7th August 2012
JAPAN 1 MEXICO 1

Mexico have broken Japan's defensive record with a poorly conceded header from a corner

Goal Otsu (12') for Japan

Semi Final - Wembley - 7th August 2012
JAPAN 1 MEXICO 0
Great shot, great goal. Keeper had absolutely no chance.

Mexico vs. Japan has kicked off at Wembley

Semi Final - Wembley - 7th August 2012
In what will be a hotly contested match, some people tip Mexico to come out on top. They're best player on the field is Tottenham Hotspur's Giovanni Dos Santos, who as always, hopes to impress. They'll have to work hard against a strong Japanese defense and offense, although Mexico will surely have the upper hand in the midfield with their system.
After an outstanding technical display against Egypt at Old Trafford last match, Japan have come on to  play against Mexico on the back of a 3 - 0 victory. Japan play to their strengths, utilising a system which encourages speed, technical ability, wide play and Barcelona-style close quarters passing. Japan are yet to concede in these Olympic Games so far.

Mexico vs. Japan is underway at Wembley

Semi Final - Wembley - 6th August 2012
In what will be a hotly contested match, Mexico are very slight favourites to beat their Japanese opposition tonight. Whoever wins here is guaranteed at least a sliver medal, so star players such as Tottenham's Giovanni Dos Santos.
In a tremendous technical performance, Japan beat their Egyptian opposition 3 - 0 in their last match. Japan are yet to conceed in this Olympic games, a fantastic record. Mexico will be out to change that though. It will be a great match.
